This blog is a place for 406 Curriculum & Instruction: Fine Arts students at UNBC in 2014 to review course content and suggestions for enrichment. More importantly, it is a place for the students who choose blogging as an assignment to connect with each other and share their learning with their classmates. See links to blogs created by students to document their learning for and about arts education throughout the course.

Good Morning Music!
Do you have enough energy this morning? Will this music help?
I really like the idea of using classical music in the classroom because it is so different from what the students are listening to in today's day! As you mentioned today in class of using it as a clean up song is exactly what I was thinking of! It would be a great challenge for students to have to clean up the class quickly and quietly during the duration of the song. Once the song is over the class would need to be sitting quietly in their seats and the classroom should be spotless! I love this idea and will definitely trying it in the classroom during my career,
Yes, I think it could really work like that. I used to have a tape player and cassette tapes...today's technology is so much more convenient! And once students are familiar with this song, would you teach them a bit more context...who the composer was, when the music was written and where? If you changed the songs once in a while, by the end of the year students would have a number of classical pieces that they knew well. They would be proud of themselves if you played a short piece and they could identify the song or the composer.
